I’m still studying

It’s been a while, but I’m working on the degree.  It’s just going slower than I had originally planned.  I’ve finally set aside some time to take a self study course on computer programming.  I also finished taking another TECEP.  This time, it was in College Algebra.  That’s three more credits in the bank.  I’m going to have to pick up the pace now.  I’d rather get this degree done sooner instead of later.

Total credits earned: 6

Total cost so far: $219

Cost per credit hour: $36.50

Credits remaining: 114

First Credits

I completed my first class earlier this weekend.  It was a Computer Concepts and Applications course, which is a fancy way of calling it an introductory computer course.  To save money, I used a credit-by-examination method called TECEP.  TECEP tests are administered by Thomas Edison State College, a regionally accredited college based in Trenton, New Jersey.  You don’t have to be a Thomas Edison State College student to take a TECEP.  It is graded on a pass/fail system.  I passed, so the credits are now on a transcript at the college.  The cost for the 3-credit exam as of this writing is $108.  3 credits down, 117 to go.
